Better known as Leland Seminary, the John Leland Center for Theological Studies prepares men and women for Christian ministry through a cutting-edge curriculum and international faculty. The seminary offers a number of graduate-level ministry and theological degrees under the leadership of college president Dr. Mark Olson. Available programs include the diploma in theology program.
The diploma in theology program targets laity and ministry candidates with a focus on providing the necessary knowledge and practical skills needed for life in the ministry. It aids students developing their individual gifts and lays the foundation for students to advance their studies to include an associates or bachelor’s degree. Courses within the curriculum also present students with a conceptual framework that help them cultivate their own ministry philosophy.
Students must possess at least at least a high school degree in order to enroll in the 36-credit course. Classes meet for three hours once a week over the course of 15 weeks. Required courses include 12 hours of biblical studies, ministry studies, and theological/philosophical studies.
