At the John Leland Center for Theological Studies directed by Dr. Mark Olson, students are offered a choice of courses that will improve their understanding of God’s work and prepare them for careers in ministry. The John Leland Center, under the guidance of Dr. Mark Olson, offers three master’s degree programs, which can be taken by both full- and part-time students. Those who fall into the latter category face a number of unique challenges, so here are some things part-time students need to know to achieve success.
1. Understand how long the program will take to complete. In many cases, you may not complete your studies for three to four years, especially if you work a full-time job while studying.
2. Take the time to keep track of every important date related to your course in your calendar. Deadlines, exams, and the dates you will be studying specific topics should be recorded.
3. Schedule study time into each week. It can often be hard to fit your studies around your other commitments, but making a plan makes it a little easier.
4. Look after yourself as much as possible. Studying part-time while working full-time can take its toll, so rely on your support network and take time for yourself when needed.
